Wanted to build a small, inexpensive machine as a media center.

So long as that Asus doesn't have the same problem with ram that mine does it looks schnazzy.

What problem does it have?

ASUS has always been a fairly picky mobo with it's memory chips. I can't remember what type of memory I bought here in town one day but the damn motherboad I have in another machine did not like it.

Some of Asus' fairly recent motherboards are having trouble recognizing more than two sticks no matter what type.

What about video and drive space?
The mobo has on-board sound & video and from the reviews I have read the video is okay. An update to the bios fixes an issue that some folks were having with grainy picture rendering 1080p. If it's still a problem there should be room for a video card. I only plan on adding 1 dvd drive and there is room for an internal hard drive. I was concerned with case temperature since there are only 2 fans so I bought aeroslots to increase airflow.

Well, hopefully I won't have this problem. In some of the reviews I read people were having issues running 8gigs, but 4gigs worked fine. I am only installing two sticks so hopefully I am good to go.

UPS lost the package with my mobo, ram & processor so I had to re-order. The motherboard that I originally chose is no longer available and none of the others that would fit the Athlon X2 processor had the same features that I was looking for so I had to go a different route. Newegg comp'd overnight shipping for me and the new hardware only cost an additional $30-something so not a bad deal.
