Number 1?

It's going to be interesting to see the new college football rankings! The Bucks WON, Miami won, Oklahoma LOST, Va Tech lost, and Washington State won. Aside from Miami winning, those are all good results for the Buckeyes! I'm not saying they will for sure be #1, in fact my guess is they will be #2 behind Miami, but it is a posibility. More than likely, both polls will vote Miami #1 and OSU #2. The interesting thing to watch will be the BCS scores. Again, it is highly likely that each will be either #1 or #2, but who will be what? The biigest question mark will be how well the Washington State outcome will help the Bucks versus how bad the Va Tech outcome will hurt Miami. All I can say is it will be interesting. Oh, well, I can say one more thing...

I wouldnt worry about being #1 or #2,you'll be in the big one with either ranking so I'd feel just like a #1 even with a #2 ranking...

Remember,it's who comes out as #1 that matters, IMO,#1 and #2 are just as equal at this point in the season...

Yeah, but it will make for good bragging rights at least for a week or two. :D

What really sucks is if Iowa wins all the rest of their games, and we loose just one. We won't go to the Fiesta Bowl or the Rose Bowl. So basically, it's all or nothing at this point.

Since Ohio St. had a bit of a struggle with an unranked team (Illinois), BCS would most likely count off for that.

Do you understand the BCS? No offence bro, but I don't think you do, because there were plenty of other good things that happened for OSU to offset any point deductions in the BCS. The only thing playing a not so good team effects in a significant way is the 2 voter polls, but I doubt that will hurt us much. Anyway, like Error said, there are only 2 undefeated teams left, and if either one stays undefeated, there is no way for them to drop out of the top 2.

Yeah, think it's like a 1 point loss if you lose a game and that is too much for a team with a loss to compete with, stay undefeated with a few other minor factors in favor of you and your free...

Well yeah, but it'll still look at it. Because of OSU's record, stats, etc. of course it won't count at all or by a hundredth. But don't expect it to increase by much.

Yes,all the factors to play a role,I dont know much about stats but margin of victory and who you play matters...But I think Point is saying that it just dosent matter if they are #1 or #2...Regardless of the margin of victory, they have an edge in the ranking that the others cant keep up with, thats being undefeated in a strong conference...If it busts them back to #2 then so be it,they would still play in the championship game...
