PvP and Raid Content

For those of you that haven't read them yet, here are some great write ups on the PvP system and the raid system in WoW. I just read the raid article, and I have to say... wow. It sounds like they once again solved a major problem that SWG never could... high end content for players that are maxed out in skill. Well, here are the 2 articles...

We just want players to have a lot of fun with our raids. And we want to have fun too. Sometimes we come up with crazy ideas, but rather than just saying "This is too hard," we say, "How can we make that work?" That's been the goal all along.

It's just plain sad that something that simple can't be grasped by a company as large as SOE. They always take the easy route with SWG rather than the fun route when it comes to fixing things or adding content.

Sounds like the end game for WoW is going to be even better than I imagined.

The way I see it, Blizzard actually strives to make a good game, and they let that be their selling point, whereas SOE consentrates primarily on marketing strategy. This was reinforced yesterday as I was watching an E3 special on G4-TechTV... they said Sony is one of the best marketed companies in the world. The sad truth is that they can make money with great marketing and an inferior product. Now I know this 1st hand, and will never buy another SOE game ever again.

Unlike SOE you never see blizzard on their forums saying 'we cant do this because it takes too much time or this wouldnt work'. You actually see them saying 'we are listening to your feedback and looking for ways to impliment it', that IMO goes along way with the fans...
