I dont like Microsoft and their annoying little pop up features,you can disable the automatic updates if you dont want it popping up every 5 minutes...
Right click on my computer and click the automatic updates tab then choose to turn off automatic updates...
Actually, you DO want to update your OS whenever there are critical updates available but there is no reason that you should be nagged to do it every time you start your PC. I also have mine disabled but I check for updates regularly.
