The ID10T error might be the problem but it is more likely that he didn't press ALT + F4 after the driver install to complete the process.

lol i feel like a blond dont worry! lol but hey i did need to update my drivers i was about 4 months behind on them.

Yeah, definately that old ID10T error. Gets them every time.
